Our mission

Phoenix Center inspires hope, health and healing by providing the highest level of mental health care to children and their families through innovative trauma-informed therapy and education.

What we do

OUR VALUES
1. Holistic Model
We assess and treat the child as a part of a larger system. A child's behavioral and mental health concerns are affected by family, school and relational and environmental dynamics.

2. Strengths-Based Approach
We recognize the intrinsic strengths in children and families as building blocks to promote healing and growth. All people can change and better themselves regardless of their past.

3. Accessible and High-Quality Mental Health Services
Socioeconomic boundaries should not interfere with a child's right to health and well-being. No child is ever turned away due to inability to pay.

4. Research-Based Therapeutic Interventions
All of our interventions are evidence-based, and we do not utilize a "one size fits all" approach to treatment. We find individualized and effective solutions for all clients.

5. Specialized Training, Continued Education and Professional Licensure for Therapists
Our counselors are licensed mental health professionals or are clinically supervised graduate level interns. They continue their education by attending training sessions regularly.

6. Financial Stewardship
The Phoenix Center is very grateful to our supporters and promises to wisely utilize the resources donated to us in a responsible manner.

7. Respect for Individuals
We see each person as an individual and treat them with dignity and respect regardless of differences in cultural, racial, gender, socio-economic, spiritual and environmental backgrounds.

Elevator Pitch Coaching Project

Phoenix Center is doing important work providing mental health services to children who have experienced trauma and their families. They offer a variety of approaches in a community that has higher rates of trauma (e.g., child abuse rate 2x the state average) but underserved in mental health resources. And they have data that show their programs are making a difference. Blakeley is highly engaged, knowledgeable, and a pleasure to work with. She has a thorough understanding of Phoenix Center's offerings, impact, community, and the children and families they serve. Her insights were critical as we developed an Elevator Pitch approach and Discussion Guide to increase the effectiveness of everyone representing Phoenix Center.
