What we'd like to talk about
I'd like strategic advice on any restrictions or limitations to what criteria I use to define groups of employees for different benefit packages.
We want all of our employees to benefit from raises. However, some of our employees don't get to see that benefit if they are receiving benefits through SSDI. I'm looking for creative ways to provide more equity across our employees' pay & benefit structure so that everyone can benefit when we're able to provide a bump in pay.
It is my understanding that in the United States, it is generally permissible for employers to provide different health insurance or retirement plan benefits to specific employees instead of offering a salary compensation increase. So, I think my idea might be possible, but need some professional advise.
